Marketing students visit TIDE VR experiences at Fort Dunree
28 Nov 2022
The newly installed TIDE project Virtual Reality experiences bring back to life Donegal’s Historic Maritime heritage using disruptive technologies.
Second and third year Atlantic Technological University - Donegal Letterkenny Campus Marketing students have recently visited Fort Dunree (Donegal, Ireland) to try out the newly installed TIDE project Virtual Reality (VR) experiences. This study visit takes place after lead partner ERNACT and project partner Donegal County Council presented the project to them.
Aine Doherty, Lecturer in Marketing at ATU, organised the study visit to Fort Dunree as part of students' contemporary issues in Marketing Module. "Students have been learning about virtual, augmented and mixed realities. It was a great opportunity to experience them on our doorstep in a tourism setting. Many thanks go to the staff at Fort Dunree, Margaret Storey, Anne Marie McLaughlin, Ianire Renobales and Patricia Doherty for supporting this trip and for telling our students about how the project rolled out. We were blessed with great weather and had a great day exploring how digital technologies can enhance the overall user experience", she explains.
