Interreg Atlantic Area funded TIDE project partner University of Cadiz has participated in two outreach events to showcase the project's results and VR technology. On March 10, the university presented the TIDE project and demonstrated the VR glasses to dive centers, active tourism companies, students, and other interested individuals at an awareness conference organized by the Natural Strait Park in Tarifa, Spain. The conference's main theme was the natural and cultural heritage as a resource for the future.
In addition, the university participated in "La semana de las Letras" event, which translates to "Humanities Week" held at the University of Cadiz. University od Cadiz presented the TIDE project and did a demonstration with the VR glasses for the event's attendees, who were all students of the university.
TIDE project partner University of Cadiz also held a successful stakeholder meeting at the Autoridad Portuaria de Algeciras on February 10, 2023, where they presented the results of the summer excavations and attendees included representatives from the Port Authority of Algeciras Bay, Museum of Algeciras, Caetaria Diving Center, Andalusian Federation of Underwater Activities, Spanish Federation of Underwater Activities, and the Algeciras Campus of the University of Cadiz discussed the project's future actions.
During the event, the team also gave a demonstration of 360 videos using VR glasses, showcasing the project's progress and achievements.
Through the TIDE project aims to promote the cultural heritage of the region and raise awareness about the importance of preserving it for future generations. With the success of the stakeholder meeting and outreach events, the project team hopes to continue raising awareness and sharing the project's progress with the wider community.
